Auction Types

ProtonAuctions has two ways to sell for currency, plus barter.

Buy It Now

A fixed price. The first player to buy it pays the price and gets the item straight away. No bidding, no waiting. Listed with type BIN, the default.

Auction

Players bid the price up over time, and the highest bid when it ends wins. Listed with type BID. You can set a buyout so a buyer can skip the wait and take it immediately at that price. A late bid can trigger anti-snipe, which extends the end a little so others get a chance to respond. See Bidding.

Once a listing's end time has passed, nobody can buy it or bid on it any more, even if it still shows for a moment before it is settled.

Barter

A currency-free, item-for-item trade. It has its own flow and is covered in the Barter guide.
